The health problems that women in Turkey face most frequently and that relate to the high rates of mortality and disability are often preventable diseases. For instance, the number of teenagers (15–19) who are mothers is still very high. The rate of using any contraceptive method is 64 percent, while the rate of modern methods is 38 percent.
