Mental Health: Iran

The Iranian woman is considered the foundation of the mental health of the family because she is responsible for men's comfort (Qadiri, 2002).

A national survey in Iran (Nurbala et al. 2001) shows that the prevalence of mental disorders (especially depression and anxiety) is significantly higher in women than it is in men (25.9 percent versus 14.9 percent).
