An island in the Persian Gulf, 50 miles north by west of Abu Dhabi Town and 65 miles west of Dibai, on the north edge of the pearl banks. It is 2½ miles long from north to south by 2 miles broad, is covered with hills of volcanic rock which attain a maximum height of 240 feet, and has a low sandy point at its south-eastern corner.
