¶ [1274c] In this month, the cold was severe, far exceeding and in sharp contrast to other years. In Fahrenheit, at night the temperature was five degrees above zero. At eight in the morning, four hours before noon, it went to twelve degrees above zero. In Jalalabad, at the same time it also reached this temperature.
