[57cc] The details are as follows: When Prince Mahmud reached Mashhad, he applied to the Iranian throne for assistance. His request, according to the Rawżat al-ṣafā-yi Nāṣirī, met with the approval of the shah, Fath ʿAli Khan. The latter appointed Ismaʿil Aqa-yi Mukri as special court courier (yasāwul-i darbār-i khāṣṣ) and [58] sent manshurs to the governors of Isfahan and Kashan telling them to convey the prince to Tehran with all due honor and regard.
