[8cc] One town of Afghanistan is Qandahar, at 32 degrees 20 minutes north by 66 degrees 30 minutes east. During the reign of Ahmad Shah Durrani, Qandahar was the capital of Afghanistan. After him, his son, His Highness Timur Shah, made Kabul the capital. The commercial streets of this city, each of which is fifty cubits (ẕarʿs) wide, converge at the city center at a plaza which is fifty zarʿs on a side.
