Wazir Fath Khan Leads an Army Toward Mashhad to Conquer Iran

[95cc] Some indication was given earlier of Wazir Fath Khan’s intention of conquering Iran and of his sending Sardar Kuhandil Khan to Ghuriyan. News of this spread and eventually reached Fath ʿAli Shah who readied an army and issued orders to Prince Hasan ʿAli Mirza “Shujaʿ al-Saltanah,” the wali of Khurasan, to keep a vigilant watch over the borders. The viceroy then sent Muhammad Amin Khan Pazuki Kurd and Qilij Khan Timuri to man the fortresses at Ghuriyan and Mahmudabad and also assigned a force to raid Bakharz and Turbat.

Wazir Fath Khan in return, began to assemble a large army…
