Solomon Islands is an independent democratic state within the Commonwealth. Its name was changed from “British Solomon Islands Protectorate” (see report infra p. U – 123 ss.) to Solomon Islands by the British Solomon Islands (Name of Territory) Order 1975 (S.I. 1975 no. 808).
