The slogan at the beginning of the 20th century was progress. The cry at the end of the 20th century is survival. The cry for the next century is hope. Impelled by that hope for the future and with a keen sense of urgency, we began our concluding gathering of the People’s Plan for the 21st Century in Minamata.
