Biography:

Strabo¹ (14, 1, 48) mentions that a Menecrates from Nysa was a student of Aristarchus² and the father of Aristodemus³ whom the young Strabo heard when he was an elderly man: from this information we can date Menecrates to the 2nd c. BCE.
