Biography:

The sole attestation of the name Menis is found in a commentary of continuous lemmata on papyrus, one dedicated to the linguistic¹-stylistic and mythological exegesis² of Il. 7, 75–85³ (POxy. 8, 1087 = MP³ 1186, col. 2, 61–63 [2, p. 225 Erbse]). Here the name Menis, defined by Erbse as a “grammat…
