The term “Origenism” designates, not the complete doctrine of Origen which, through the Fathers of the 4th century, has become the common possession of the Church, but rather a current of thought arising out of certain speculations of the Peri Archon which, taken out of their context and stripped of their hypothetical and antithetical character, were systematized from the 4th to the 6th century.
