1. Definition. Property is the power of disposal over objects of value, the right of a person or a group of persons to make dispositions in respect of a limited sphere of the material world. Material is here to be taken in the widest sense. It includes not only material rights, but also stocks and shares having a financial value, and immaterial rights (copyright, patent rights, trade names, design rights). Thus the content of the right of property coincides with what in economic terms is called “ownership”, understood as the total economic goods of a particular subject.
