§ 1526. ʿAbd al-ʿAlī Islāmābādī b. Minnat ʿAlī was born in 1262/1846, presumably at Chittagong. Educated at the Calcutta Madrasah, he was appointed Professor of Persian in that institution and subsequently became Professor of Arabic in the Hoogly Madrasah.
