§ 1559. Muʿīn al-Dīn Abū ’l-Qāsim Junaid b. Najm al-Dīn Abī ’l-Fatḥ Maḥmūd al-ʿUmarī al-S̲h̲īrāzī was the son of a devout Ṣūfī and preacher who died in 740/1339–40 and the great-grandson of Ṣadr al-Dīn al-Muẓaffar b. M. al-ʿUmarī al-ʿAdawī, author of the Marmūzāt al-ʿis̲h̲rīn (Ḥ. K̲h̲. v p. 500) and many other works, who died in 688/1289. He was himself a k̲h̲aṭīb and must have lived to a very advanced age.

S̲h̲add al-izār fī ḥaṭṭ al-auzār ʿan zuwwār al-mazār, usually called Hazār mazār, an Arabic work on the celebrated men buried at S̲h̲īrāz written probably in 791/1389, the latest date mentioned: Ḥ. K̲h̲. iv p. 16, Rieu Arabic Suppt. 677 (19th cent.), Majlis 559.
