§ 697. Abū ’l-Faḍl M. b M. Riḍā Gulpāyagānī, Bahāʾī missionary, died in Cairo in 1336/1917–18 or 1337/1918–19.

Farāʾid, completed in Cairo in 1315/1898, mainly as a rejoinder to two works by the S̲h̲aik̲h̲ al-Islām of Tiflīs, Radḍ bar Īqan (cf. no. 695 (1) supra) and Mudāfaʿah bar muqābalah i k̲h̲aṣm (no. 695 (2)): Cairo 1315/1898 (731 pp. cf. Browne Materials p. 147, Mas̲h̲had iv p. 331).

§ 698. ʿAlī Aṣg̲h̲ar b. Rajab-ʿAlī Yazdī Ardakānī, surnamed (mulaqqab bi-) Majd al-ʿUlamāʾ.

al-Hadīyat al-Mahdawīyah fī radd al-ṭāʾifat al-Bābīyah, a reply to the Farāʾid of Gulpāyagānī (see no. 697 supra), completed in 1320/1902: Tihrān 1325/1907 (Mas̲h̲had iv p. 364).

§ 699. S. Nāṣir al-Dīn b. M. Hās̲h̲im Najafābādī Iṣfahānī.

al-Ḥujjat al-bālig̲h̲ah fī tanbīh al-qulūb al-zāʾig̲h̲ah, a refutation of Bahāʾism and an account of controversy with Munīr Nabīl-zādah circ. 1329/1911: D̲h̲arīʿah vi p. 260 no. 1420, Mas̲h̲had 1348/1929–30 (Mas̲h̲had iv p. 304).
