When we started planning, in mid-2019, the 13th volume of the Yearbook covering the year 2020, we had no idea that this volume would stick out from all the previous ones. Never before had an external nature-driven event affected all of the surveyed countries, and never before were the consequences so equally far-reaching for all European countries and their people as they were with the rise of covid-19. This volume of the Yearbook serves as a documentation of this, providing the most comprehensive tool to learn about the effects the pandemic had on Muslim life in 45 European countries.
