SEG Search Tips

Looking for a record?

There are various methods to obtain a record.

A Search

1 Use the Search Box to find an entry by volume and inscription number

  • If the entry exists, it will be at the top of the search result list. If the entry is part of a lemma with multiple inscriptions, that entry will be listed on top. For example "50 1" is part of SEG 50 1-168.

  • Enter the required place name in the Search Box, as follows: tei_propername:"Babylon" (including the double quotes "" around Babylon) and select the title Supplementum Epigraphicum Graecum.

  • Enter the required larger region name in the Search Box, as follows: tei_propername:"East" (including the double quotes around East) and select the title Supplementum Epigraphicum Graecum.
  • The search result will show a list of all inscriptions in East
