I. Place in the Canon Nahum is the seventh within the Book of the Twelve Prophets (Prophetic books). In the Hebrew canon, it is preceded by Micah, in the Greek canon by Jonah (probably because of Nineveh). The order in the Masoretic Text is reinforced by keyword links to Nahum in Mic 7:8–20 (Nogalski).
