tradition history are not used consistently in Old Testament and New Testament biblical scholarship and its methods (Biblical ¶ criticism, Exegesis); the differences in usage are determined by whether the basic term tradition is used in the sense of content (
traditum) or (less commonly) in the sense of a process (
