Abū l-Khaṭṭāb Muḥammad b. Abī Zaynab Miqlāṣ al-Asadī was a Shīʿī heresiarch and rebel executed in the early ʿAbbāsid period (c. 138/755). He was a Kufan client of the tribe of Asad; details regarding his early life are uncertain. The Al-Khaṭṭābiyya were a sect of the ghulāt (radical Shīʿa) founded by Abū l-Khaṭṭāb al-Asadī (d. c.138/755).
