Humanist born in Hemert (bishopric of Liège). Licentiate in medicine (at the University of Louvain?). Taught Greek at the University of Ingolstadt in Bavaria (from 1564). In the first half of 1568 he returned to Louvain, to become later 'praefectus' of the Latin school at Tongres and (as such mentioned in 1571) professor at Harderwijk.
