Hélène Cazès Benathar (1898–1979) was the first certified Jewish woman lawyer in Morocco. In 1940 she established the Comité d’Assistance aux Réfugies Étrangers in Casablanca to help Jewish war refugees arriving in Morocco from Nazi-dominated Europe.
