[German Version] Chaldea ( kur Kaldu), the settlement area of the Chaldeans ( lú Kaldayya/ Χαλδαίοι [ Chaldaíoi], כַּשְׁדִים [ kaśdîm]) in southern Mesopotamia. The Chaldeans may be attested already in Middle Assyrian texts. They were organized in tribal states.
