L.F.Vettonianus. Originally probably from Caesaraugusta in Spain. Was accepted into the Senate under Claudius; after the offices of quaestor, tribune of the people, and praetor, he became legate of the legio IV Scythica in Syria and Armenia in the year AD 62 (Tac. Ann. 15,7,1). Joined Vespasianus; in 78, he was appointed to the office of (among others) praefectus aerarii Saturni before becoming cos. suff.
