Gnaea Seia Herennia S. Barbia Orbiana. Daughter of Sallustius [II 5] Macrianus, according to Herodianus (6,1,9) from a patrician line, wedded to the emperor Severus Alexander in AD 225. She received the title of Augusta. Apparently, conflicts with the emperor's mother Iulia [9] Mamaea soon emerged, a fact which is claimed to have led S.'s father to attempt an overthrow. S. was divorced from Severus at the end of 227 at the latest and banished to Africa. Her name was removed from inscriptions. Regarding the name s. especially [1; 2. 179].
