Biography:

The grammarian Hermias is known from only one citation in the scholion of Herodianus1 on Il. 16, 2072; this fragment attests his attachment to the Cratetean3 school (Κρατήτ<ε>ιος) and can therefore suggest a dating between the 2nd and 1st c. BCE.
