[English version] (Γλαφύραι). Der Schiffskatalog der Ilias (Hom. Il. 2,711ff.) nennt den Ort zusammen mit Boibe und Iolkos. Myth. Gründer war Glaphyros, Sohn des Magnes und Vater des Boibos. In histor. Zeit ist das Ethnikon Γλαφυρεύς für Beamte aus Demetrias [1] belegt. So ist anzunehmen, daß G. bis in hell. Zeit existierte, obwohl Strab. 9,15,5 G. beim Synoikismos für Demetrias nicht erwähnt. Die genaue Lage von G. am Südufer des ehemaligen Boibe-Sees ist nicht gesichert.
