Definition The term recatholicization is one of a group of terms including  Counter-Reformation, Catholic Reformation, Catholic confessionalization, and Catholic  social discipline that denote different facets of the same historical phenomenon: the development of the Roman Catholic Church after the Protestant Reformation.
