[German version] (Φιλιστείδης; Philisteídēs). Scholar from Mallus, known only from Plin. HN 4,58 and 120. It is not known when he lived. [German version] (Παρμενίσκος; Parmenískos). Greek grammarian in the Alexandrine tradition, 2nd/1st cent. BC, certainly before Varro (Ling. 10,10) and Didymus [1] Chalkenteros, who first made reference to him. Surviving from his works are 22 fragments (collected by [3]) and the title of one of his writings: Πρὸς Κράτητα/ Pròs Krátēta ('Against Crates'), a treatise in at least 2 volumes opposing the Pergamenian philologist Crates [5] of Mallus (2nd cent.
