Am befriedigendsten hat sich die auf G.S. Kirk und W. Burkert zurückgehende Bestimmung von M. als einer ‘traditionellen Erzählung von kollektiver Bedeutsamkeit’ erwiesen [1; 2]; selbst sie wird aber der Funktion von M. in der nachklass.
