[English version] Sonst unbekannter Verf. eines Epigramms, das das Bildnis des Agathias (den er als Redner und Dichter rühmt), seines Bruders und seines Vaters Memnonios preist (Anth. Pal. 16,316). Das Gedicht wird verm. an der Basis einer Statuengruppe in Myrina [4] (Stadt in V. 1) angebracht worden sein, vielleicht nicht lange nach dem Tod des Agathias (nach 580 n.Chr.). K. (Capito) ist ein ziemlich weit verbreitetes röm. cognomen: Ohne Grundlage ist daher die Gleichsetzung mit dem Epiker von Alexandreia, den Athen. 10,425 erwähnt; wenig wahrscheinlich ist auch die mit Pompeius K., der sein Können in jedem Metrum und Rhythmus unter Beweis stellt (TrGF 186).
