[German Version] A Greek Gnostic apocalyptic writing, extant in two independent Coptic translations of a shorter Greek original of the Apocryphon of John in NHC III and BG 8502, as well as two additional copies, with slight variations in their dialect, of the Coptic translation of a longer Greek original in NHC II and IV. The long version is likely a revision of the short version. Around 180 Irenaeus ( Haer.
