From 1908 to 1911, Wünsch studied in Erlangen, Berlin, and Heidelberg; from 1912 to 1922 he served as a pastor in the regional church of Baden. In 1922 he was appointed lecturer in systematic theology at Marbug, where he became professor of ethics, social ethics, and apologetics in 1931. He was dismissed in 1945 but reappointed in 1950.
